History
In the past, silk was luxurious and precious material in Vietnam
and was as precious as a rhinoceros’ horn or an ivory. It was used to
tailor costumes of Royal members and aristocrats. Van Phuc Silk Village,
the oldest silk village in Vietnam, is the cradle of Vietnam silk and
the origin of the best silk-making place in Vietnam. Its silk has been
exported to many countries all over the world and was highly
appreciated.
How to get there?
Van Phuc Silk Village is located about 15 kilometers in the southwest of Hanoi Old Quarter in Van Phuc Ward, Ha Dong District, Hanoi City.
You can take a taxi to get there.
You may tak a bus number 01 in Long Bien Bus Station then walk about 500 meters to reach the village.
What this village offers?
This is a
colorful village of various kinds of silk products in Van Phuc Silk
Village such as shirts, dresses, crafts, ties. These products are soft,
and smooth with beautiful patterns. It brings to the customers
comfortable feeling when wearing it. They are produced by ingenuity of
locals.
